Ugh, beauty advice, amirite ladies?

This is silly.

I got to play with my new camera this weekend

I took some pictures of my favorite subjects. Sawyer is usually hard to catch a picture of but my new slr is super stealthy and I got some good snaps.

He is yelling at me to stop.

But I got some happy ones too!

Here he is showing me his latest treasure. I love all the detail on his little fingers.

Of course, Syd is very easy to photograph. She’s never met a camera she didn’t like.

I wimped out and mainly used the auto settings. But I’m thinking about taking a class this Fall.

National Duck Out For A Drink Day

Love a weekend kickoff like this.

Sloane from Ferris Buellers Day Off

Remember this cutie?

She is still completely beautiful.. Brava!

A good old fashioned time waster

I found this completely mesmerizing..

I’m sure many of you have been reading about the fallout from statements made by Mr. Akin. What is happening here? When I first started reading I had to keep reading, trying to make sense of this.

Maureen Dowd did a wonderful takedown of Todd Akin’s nonsensical statements.

I tried oil painting, it gave me feelings

I tried oil painting today. It’s a lot of work? I had to mix colors and stuff and the process of that started annoying me. So I hate the way the picture is turning out, but I will not abandon it. Maybe it will turn around…

Scrabble Tile Pillows

OMG, these rock! Scrabble tile pillows you guys. You can get your inner nerd and crafty girl in sync!

When I saw some scrabble tile pillows in a photo on Get In My Home, I knew I just had to try making some! Here’s how:

(1) Find some khaki colored fabric. (Lucky me, my husband had just handed me an old polo shirt in just this color that he no longer wanted!) Cut out two squares for each letter of the word you want to make. I started with 8-inch squares because I just wanted to make some small pillows to put on a shelf, but you could go much larger or smaller.

(2) Go to Fuzzimo, scroll down to where it says “Download Wooden Scrabble Letter Tiles Image,” and download the photo.

(3) Go to PicMonkey and use their tools to crop and enlarge the desired tiles.

(4) Print the tiles, cut out the letters and numbers, and tape them onto a piece of black felt.
